"An explosive cocktail of jazz-rock fusion seasoned with Canterbury, RIO, convulsive Zappa maneuvers and shaken with swing, lots of swing." (Mark T., Third Millennium)
"Beat Love Oracle play a lively instrumental fusion, of the Canterbury meets RIO type, with influences as diverses as Carla Bley, Gong, Henry Cow, National Health, The Muffins and The Mothers, plus diversions to other territory. They are really good." (Alan Freeman, Audion Magazine)
"It sounds like bewitching Jazz free of harmful additives, like glorious Free and the delicious result of baking at placid temperature the hesitant and sublime barrages of Hardscore on a bed of Tim Garland and coating them with the effluvia of the most daring and rapturous Gary Burton... ...Beat Love Oracle sounds real and cool. If I did not know the adventures of the Nuyts hosts, I would say that they are improvising to warm up. They are able to turn jewelery with true substance and depth into entertainment. And that is a wonderful gift. Especially since the sadly normal thing is the opposite. Grabbing baseless things and dressing them up with false gravity. And of course, the coffered ceiling falls with four raindrops of nothing..." (Carlos Torrecilla, Kiss That Prog)
"The leader and primary composer in Hardscore was Frank Nuyts, who continued writing music in the years following the disbandonment of Hardscore, and a few years ago put together a new group called Beat Love Oracle, a quartet, something of a leaner, meaner, mostly instrumental band exploring similar musical territories. Several of Hardscore’s final recordings accompanied BLO’s second album Don’t Count on Us. Nuyts, in addition to composing most of the material, is here playing marimba and synthesizers. Frank Debruyne, who was also a member of Hardscore, is here on saxes and synthesizers (and composed one track, "Tadadada"). The group is rounded out by the intense rhythm section of drummer Ronald Dhaene and bassist Stijn Deldaele, the latter who also contributes vocals — through a vocoder — to the opening track “There Are No Downbeats.” Their music is strictly composed and arranged, yet still has an improvised feel at times, a bit of jazz by virtue of the saxplay, a bit of Zappa due to the everpresent tuned mallet percussion, built on a foundational chamber style that informs the compositions throughout. Dhaene’s skill as a drummer is to provide each piece with exactly what it needs, support-wise, and riff as much as possible whenever it’s appropriate. The synths typically come into play as support for soloists, for example on “Don't Bump Your Head Against the Cloud.” Reminders of Zappa and The Mothers are everywhere due to the mallets, while aggressive numbers like “Tadadada” with a powerful sax presence and incessant groove will recall bands like The Muffins, yet when all is put together, Beat Love Oracle has a sound that is their own. Those who go for the vinyl version will only get six tracks, while downloaders and CD purchasers will get eight, and those two extra tracks are as essential as any other in this outstanding set." (Peter Thelen, Exposé)
"Everything is arranged in such a way that it keeps your constant attention but does not tire you at the same time, that is one of the great qualities of the album. True proof that complexity and melody can coexist. The compositions flow fantastically and are a combination of jazz and elements of Canterbury Scene spirit and Avant-garde, leaning more towards the latter. Really complex, but even though I mentioned avant grade, immediately acceptable, an album that will leave you breathless at first listen. Throughout the album, keyboards and wind instruments lead their dance, innovative style and incredible musicality really give each track a special charm. One of the albums that simply leaves you speechless with its combinations of styles and sounds." (Goran Čabrajić, New Dawn Of Prog)

Mysterious, yet nostalgic, Isolubilia is truly an ode to the romance found in the pursuit of a mystery. Musically rich in turbulence and serenity, majesty and humbleness, this album made me feel both lonely, yet understood as an isolated individual. Perhaps we're all fellow romantics, looking up at the same night sky, trying to wring our own meaning out of the stars. I hope that pursuit never ends. The John

The new live EP by Ryan W. Stevenson's project reminded me, that this debut album must have been gone down the wishlist... If instrumental Canterbury stuff is your thing, this should be a no-brainer. Firmly rooted in the past (late 60s, 70s), nevertheless with a fresh sound. Guests incude The Tangent's Andy Tillison and Soft Machine's Theo Travis. Carsten Pieper

No one does music quite like Camille and Xavier do. I see their music as being akin to soundtracks for unfilmed movies. In this instance it is a movie about explorers of mountainous terrain, perhaps the terrain of our lives. Merci pour cette musique si intrigante. :-) sumbuk
